We listened to music from our childhood and danced. We laughed with the creases edging our eyes, the contrast of our youth.
It was the annual friends' Christmas party.
Vilte made granola and a cheesecake. Karolis brought sushi.
We played board games.
Kestas kept covering his smile when he laughed because his tooth cracked. We all laughed which made him smile more.
I remember when we had Covid two years ago. We drove to his dad's and picked up a box of home videos to watch. He had bought a video camera on his trip to Alaska when he was a teenager. We sat on the floor sick watching them. I saw him in his twenties dance with his friends. They laughed and drank. I felt like I was there. I saw little pieces of him and loved him even more.
Now these friends circled around me, and I got to experience it first hand. I'm in the memories now.
